The mine closed, many people left... the town hit rock bottom
Those who stayed needed something to bring people together
a sence of purpose and belief in their community
they came up with an idea a play.....
Why a play ?

Many of the cast had never seen a play
let alone been in one​
All found themselves swept up in the bigest production
to be staged
at the Gaiety Theatre in living memory
A cast and crew of 30 people were rerquired
to stage the musical melodrama
BOOMTOWN
The call went out far and wide across the west coast
but most were hesitant
persistance paid off
and slowly it began to come together
